The US government mourns the loss of Hong Kong’s “Apple Daily” – claiming it was a bastion of “independent journalism.” In reality, Apple Daily was a vector of US interference in Hong Kong’s and China’s internal political affairs.
At the same time, the US is seizing websites to shut down Iranian media organizations all while attempting to imprison Julian Assange and Edward Snowden, and having previously jailed Chelsea Manning.
