In just 2 weeks, Colombian President Petro and VP Márquez have taken huge steps to “end the genocide of human rights defenders & social leaders,” address inequality and racism & re-establish relationships with Cuba and Venezuela. Colombian Foreign Minister Álvaro Leyva Durán recently went to Cuba to restart peace negotiations with the National Liberation Army (ELN), the largest leftist guerrilla group active in Colombia.
