Sudan researcher Mosaab Baba joins the show to discuss the ongoing civil war, now in its second year.
Baba discusses the Sudanese Armed Forces’ recent recapture of Khartoum’s presidential palace from the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces after intense fighting, a major turning point in the conflict.
“The RSF was always unsustainable– a militia ruling by fear and ethnic cleansing. Their defeat was inevitable,” Baba says. But the real danger now, he warns, is the West’s proxy forces pushing Sudan toward a “Libya-style split.”
