Global Strategies in the Age of Geoeconomics Webinar
CUTS Geoeconomics Monograph Series – Third Webinar | Global Strategies in the Age of Geoeconomics(G-SAGE)
CUTS International hosted the third webinar under its Global Strategies in the Age of Geoeconomics (G-SAGE) Monograph Series, bringing together leading diplomats, scholars and policy experts from Chile, Ghana, Russia, Singapore and India to examine the evolving geoeconomic forces shaping the international order. The discussion explored how trade, technology, connectivity, critical minerals and digital infrastructure have emerged as central instruments of statecraft amid intensifying geopolitical competition. The webinar featured expert insights on strategic autonomy through Active Non-Alignment, the geoeconomic significance of the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), Africa’s evolving approach to resource governance and digital transformation, the expanding US–China technology competition, and the growing strategic importance of Central Asia within Eurasian connectivity. Panellists underscored the need for resilient supply chains, diversified partnerships, robust institutional frameworks and strengthened domestic capabilities to navigate an increasingly contested global environment. The webinar reaffirmed the importance of geoeconomic thinking in shaping policy responses to contemporary global challenges and reflected the G-SAGE initiative’s commitment to fostering informed dialogue on the intersection of economics, geopolitics and strategic development.
