The US-led Quad alliance includes Japan, Australia, and India and exists supposedly to stand up to an aggressive China.
But in reality points made against China are aimed merely at justifying what is Washington’s desire to maintain primacy over the Indo-Pacific region despite not actually being located there.
Toward this end, the US has decided to conduct “freedom of navigation” exercises to “enforce” international law not just against China but also a member of its own Quad alliance – India.
