Russian Operations in Ukraine: Week 6 Update

Russian operations in Ukraine enter week 6. Russian forces have completed a withdrawal from around Kiev and other cities in north-central Ukraine after announcing a reduction of operations in these areas almost a week ago.

The focus will now be on Donbas – the protection of which serves as the primary objective of Russia’s operations in Ukraine.

The southern port city of Mariupol is all but taken by Russia. Together with Kherson, a land bridge exists between Crimea and the Russian border with the Donbas region.

Recently, Ukraine’s presidential adviser complains that Ukraine’s defense industry has been all but completely destroyed – demilitarizing Ukraine is also one of Russia’s main objectives.

Despite all of this, the Western media continues claiming Russia has failed in all of its objectives and remains “stalled” across the country.
