The results of Hezbollah’s latest attack are beginning to emerge

What are the two military developments that will work in favour of the resistance axis?

Two key military events have occurred in recent days, which may give light on the outcome of Hezbollah’s “Forty” strike, the greatest and most advanced operation against the Middle East’s largest espionage base, “Gililot,” in Tel Aviv last Sunday. This provides observers with a rapid glance into the map of clashes in the coming days and weeks, as well as possible surprises.

The first: “Shy” confessions in Israeli and Western media are reflected in analyses expressed by some local analysts and Israeli generals, discussing the significant success of Hezbollah’s “Forty” attack on the “Galilout” intelligence base. This achieved most, if not all, of its objectives in a clear break from Israeli military censorship under strict instructions from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself.

The second: The “Islamic Jihad” movement has issued an official statement, possibly for the first time, confirming the martyrdom of four of its fighters in the Syrian Golan Heights, without providing any details about the circumstances of their martyrdom, the nature of the military operations they were engaged in, or the specific area of the plateau, whether on the Syrian or occupied Israeli side.

Starting with the first development, namely the “Forty” attack launched by the Lebanese Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) in retaliation for the assassination of the martyr Sayyed Fouad Shukr, the military commander of the resistance forces and the strongest military arm of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the party. It can be said that it represents a strong and calculated military leap, marking a significant breakthrough in Israeli military intelligence.

To elaborate, the method of preparation and execution was based on a new military philosophy that will be taught and adopted by most, if not all, military institutions worldwide. We are not just discussing the element of surprise, but also the cleverness in preparation and execution. The brilliant military planner launched more than 320 Katyusha rockets in successive waves to disable the Iron Dome system by depleting all of its missiles, paving the way for the more significant drone attack on the military espionage base “Gilelot,” the primary target of this unprecedented assault.

The message conveyed by “Hezbollah” by this attack is strong and unambiguous. It reveals that every assassination will be replied to by focussing on the intelligence services that planned and carried it out, rather than by assassinating individuals or bombing innocent targets. The party’s forces will not be satisfied with striking military targets, as has become customary, but will instead deliver painful blows to the Israeli security institution, undermining its prestige and arrogance in front of the Israeli public, as well as the political and military institutions that rely on its capabilities and protection.

We won’t have to wait long before we learn more significant and in depth details about the results of the “Hezbollah” drones’ attack on the aforementioned intelligence base, including the number of dead and wounded, as well as the damage to equipment. This is especially important when concerning the intelligence unit 8200, which is responsible for monitoring, surveillance, drawing up and executing lines of psychological and disinformation warfare, as well as espionage teams across the internet.

The continuation of the Israeli forces’ military operations in Southern Lebanon, including the assassination campaign targeting specific Hezbollah military leaders, highlights the state of “madness” that has afflicted them and their leadership as a result of the “Forty” attack. First and foremost, this refutes all narratives propagated by the so-called fifth column that claimed the “Forty” attack was a pre-agreed “staged event.”

However, the second development, the martyrdom of three fighters from the “Islamic Jihad” movement in the Golan Heights, serves as an official announcement of the renewed expansion of the Syrian Golan front, alongside the fighting Palestinian factions, their brothers in “Hezbollah,” the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, or the supporting Syrian forces.

We are well aware that the Golan front has never been closed; it has remained open for years, as evidenced by the martyrdom of Commander Samir Quntar, who founded and led fighting units, as well as the martyr Imad Mughniyeh, who was his right-hand man in recruitment and planning for operations against the occupation. However, what is unique for us is the announcement of martyrs who have died on this front, notably from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement.

Over the last five years, Israeli occupation forces have launched over 400 bombings on Syrian territory, including 180 raids since the Al-Qassam Brigades’ “Al-Aqsa Flood” campaign against settlements encircling the Gaza Strip on October 7. All of these attacks have failed to achieve their main goal, which is to undermine the resistance’s military capabilities and weaken Iranian support in terms of modern weapons and combat expertise, whether for host countries (Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Gaza) or active brigades. In particular “Hezbollah,” which has grown into a massive fighting force with a stockpile of over 150,000 rockets, approximately 40,000 drones, and at least 100,000 fighters.

Glory be to the changing of circumstances, as resistance movements gain successes and pull off surprise after surprise in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria, while occupying troops suffer human, physical, and moral defeats. Now, the West Bank is strongly joining the unity of arenas and support fronts, and it may become the most important one given its geographical proximity to the occupying state and its settlements.
