Global Uprising: How Israel’s War is Exposing the Cracks In US Empire

Over 140 days into the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza, the death toll has surpassed 30,000 Palestinians, and over 70,000 have been injured. In addition to constant Israeli bombardment, Gaza is experiencing widespread famine, its hospitals are besieged, and threats of an Israeli ground invasion in Rafah loom near.

Layan Sima Fuleihan, the Education Director at The People’s Forum, an editor at 1804 Books, and an organizer with the Shut It Down For Palestine coalition, discusses the growing internal divisions among Israel and its Western backers, due to heightened political pressure from movements in the United States and around the world for an immediate ceasefire. Fuleihan discusses the upcoming March 2nd Global Day of Action for Gaza.

“We have to keep up the pressure and make it so it is extremely untenable for these politicians to continue their policies of extermination against the Palestinian people.”
