Sarah Raymundo, International Liaison Officer for BAYAN Philippines and Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines, joins the show to discuss former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
Raymundo discusses Duterte’s legacy of brutal extrajudicial killings in the so-called “war on drugs” which she says “was fueled by US-funded counterinsurgency.”
Raymundo calls Duterte’s arrest “is a fight for justice by the Filipino people to end impunity and human rights abuses that continue under Marcos Jr.’s regime.”
