A man and a woman were killed in the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona after it was hit by a rocket barrage from Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel’s ambulance service says.
The deaths follow a spate of rocket fire over the past few days as Hezbollah responds to Israeli strikes inside Lebanon. “We found a man and a woman, aged around 40 years old, unconscious and injured by shrapnel. We carried out medical examinations, but their injuries were serious and we had to declare them dead on the spot,” said emergency service provider Magen David Adom in a statement.
Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh reports from Jordan’s capital, Amman.
