Why are Turkey and “Syria of al-Shar'” denying their Istanbul meeting with “Hezbollah”?

Why don’t we rule it out? And has “New Syria” reached its conclusion after completing its primary role?

We are not surprised that officials in Turkey and “New Syria” have rushed to dispute the news article published by the global news agency “Reuters,” which quoted six sources on talks between the “Syrian state” and representatives of “Hezbollah” in Turkey. Ironically, the party that should be quick to deny is “Hezbollah,” not the Turkish and Syrian allies, because these two allies are in desperate need of this meeting in light of the escalating Israeli military incursions in southern Syria, the abandonment of the Damascus authority by most Arab and global countries, and the cessation of financial aid to it, which has resulted in the current economic collapse and rising living costs.

Interestingly, “Hezbollah,” the strongest party in this equation and possibly the biggest loser, remained silent and did not remark on the news of the meeting in Turkey with the new Syrian administration, which is buried in crisis. All of its negotiations and security concessions to the Israeli occupation have failed.

It is worth noting that “Hezbollah”, the strongest party in this equation and possibly the biggest loser, kept mute and made no remark on the news of the meeting in Turkey with the new Syrian administration, which is immersed in crisis. Despite all of its meetings and security concessions to Israel, it has continued to conduct provocative incursions into the occupied southern Syrian territory. Among the most notable chapters was the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Minister of War, Israel Katz, to the newly seized Mount Hermon shortly after the former Syrian administration fell. They snapped photos during their tour and issued comments proving the Judaisation of this mountain, which overlooks southern Lebanon, as well as the “Israeli” occupation of the Golan Heights. In answer to Mr Ahmad al-Shara, the interim Syrian president, Netanyahu rudely stated that Jews had been on the Golan Heights thousands of years before Arabs and Muslims, in response to his demand that the heights be returned to Syria.

In recent days and weeks, there has been an Israeli incursion into Syria, while the United States has shown indifference by continuing to support the Syrian dictatorship, lifting its protection by evacuating all American personnel, and demolishing sites in Syria, Iraq, and Iraqi Kurdistan. Furthermore, all Arab backers have abandoned the situation in Syria and halted all financial assistance. We learned that Mousa Al-Imar, a media figure and one of President Al-Shar’s advisors, has urged the Gulf powers to urgently pay $20 billion to save Syria from the terrible financial crisis that threatens its collapse.

We do not rule out that the leadership of the “New Syria” may hold this meeting with representatives of “Hezbollah” in Turkey, stemming from a state of despair and political and financial crises, to send a desperate threat message to America and the Arab countries that if they do not continue to support Syria financially, militarily, and diplomatically, Syria will return to the axis of resistance, ally with “Hezbollah”, and lift the ban on smuggling Iranian

Another trend that cannot be overlooked, which significantly promotes the idea of “New Syria” and its temporary president opening channels with “Hezbollah,” is the rise of Syrian national Islamic resistance against the Israeli occupation in southern Syria and the Yarmouk Basin. “Hezbollah” has been providing soldiers, weapons, and fighting skills to the resistance, and the two sides’ operational coordination has improved.

The truth is that Hezbollah’s silence will not last long, and it will speak up in this matter, whether by denying or confirming, and it will come out on top. The most compelling explanation for this silence is the party’s focus on more vital matters, the wisdom and reason of its leadership, and the desire to avoid being drawn into side conflicts with a party that has nearly lost allies, both Arab and Western. Internal conflict is escalating in cities like Homs, Aleppo, and Hama, with opposing military factions protesting the new regime’s sectarian identity or belonging to extremist “terrorist” groups like the Islamic State (ISIS) seeking revenge for marginalisation and destabilising security and stability. Its leaders have betrayed “the new Syria.” Now that this purpose has been met, they have abandoned it, leaving it to face its fate and remove its thorns by itself, assuming it has hands and nails. The days will expose the truth.
