Israel’s third loss in Lebanon is almost certain

Is the bombing of Beirut Airport the next surprise, following the attack on the nearby Shweifat neighbourhood? And where are the American guarantees?

Israeli forces continued their aggression against Lebanon today with the support of the United States, including President Donald Trump himself. This aggression has resulted in the deaths of 23 people and dozens of injuries in less than 48 hours, as well as more than 3,300 martyrs and 10,000 injured since March 2nd.

Despite American assurances and interventions, Israeli planes bombed the Shweifat area in the southern suburbs near the airport. They targeted a residential building on Thursday under the pretext of assassinating fighter Ali Al-Husseini, whom they claimed was responsible for the missile attacks in the Imam Al-Husseini Brigade affiliated with Hezbollah.

The Lebanese authorities claimed that the American administration, which orchestrated normalisation talks in Washington and arranged meetings at the Pentagon between Israeli and Lebanese military delegations to devise a joint military plan to disarm Hezbollah, prevented Israel from bombing Beirut. The question now before this authority and the United States is whether the southern suburb, which has not stopped being bombarded, is located in Stockholm or North Korea, rather than in the Lebanese city of Beirut, whose population consists of native Americans.

Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would broaden the fight in Lebanon against Hezbollah, acknowledging his army’s and air defences’ incapacity to detect and intercept Hezbollah’s explosive drones and stating that the fight would not end until Hezbollah was eradicated. His finance minister, Smotrich, went even further, threatening to destroy 100 buildings in Lebanon, primarily in the southern suburbs, for every drone launched by Hezbollah that kills or injures an Israeli.

Israel Katz, the minister of defence, remarked on the death of an Israeli soldier and the injuries of two others, one of whom is in critical condition, saying that “Hezbollah” has paid and would pay a high price in response to its attacks on “Israel”. Another question: What was this soldier doing on Lebanese soil? Was she doing humanitarian work, visiting historical sites, or wandering along the gorgeous beaches?

Netanyahu and his supporters seek to compensate for their failures in removing the Iranian regime, transforming the Middle East, and constructing Greater Israel by expanding aggression against Lebanon. However, failure will hound them, and they will pay a high cost. If they have tried to eliminate Hezbollah for the past 40 years and have been defeated twice—first in 2000, which the party is currently celebrating as the anniversary of the complete liberation of southern Lebanon and the dismantling of the security belt, and second in the July 2006 war that destroyed the myth of the invincible Israeli army—history will repeat itself, and they will flee Lebanon for the third time, leaving the resistance to celebrate a third victory, according to

The Israeli leadership, which brags about its intelligence capabilities and conducts staged assassinations in Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran to conceal its failure to achieve a decisive victory on the six fronts where its forces are fighting, made a mistake when it underestimated Hezbollah’s military capabilities. They expected to have an effortless time conquering Lebanon this time, but the resistance was stunning, and highly advanced drones were waiting. It is unnecessary to go into detail about the missile bombardment on Tel Aviv, Haifa, Akka, Safed, and Kiryat Shmona.

So, if the occupation state, backed by the US and with the approval of the official Lebanese authority, fails to disarm Hezbollah, will they be able to prevent Iran from enriching uranium, remove the 460 kilograms enriched to more than 60%, and forcefully reopen the Strait of Hormuz after three months of failed war?

Israel has fallen into a deep Lebanese trap and is now unable to either continue the war and win it or withdraw to minimise losses, as it did in the defeats of 2000 and the July War of 2006. This is because the resistance vanguards will pursue the enemy beyond the Lebanese borders and will not stop until they have expelled and defeated them. The Radwan Brigades are prepared to liberate Galilee and possibly push to Tel Aviv, Haifa, Ashkelon, and Dimona in the south.

Netanyahu’s promise to escalate the conflict might be a good gift to the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement, broadening its popular base by enlisting all Shiite sects, as well as the majority of Sunni, Druze, and Christian sects. A larger invading Israeli force equals more casualties among its ranks.
