Dylan Saba, a Staff Attorney at Palestine Legal, joins the show to unpack Trump’s recent executive order targeting international students protesting for Gaza. The order authorizes the deportation of any foreign students engaged in campus activism supporting Palestine.
Saba describes this as part of a broader “counter-repression movement” aimed at silencing Palestinians and their allies. “The Zionist lobby is scared,” Saba says, “because young people—the future of US public opinion—are standing with Palestinian liberation.” He adds, “With Israel as an appendage of the American empire, losing US support is a core threat to the Zionist project’s survival.”
“Palestine & pro-Palestine voices are treated differently in the US because advocating for liberation threatens the US imperial project,” says @shaabiranks
