Michigan State Attorney General Dana Nessel has charged eleven students with a mix of felonies and misdemeanors for participating in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at the University of Michigan.
Salma Hamamy, a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where she served as the President of the Students for Justice in Palestine chapter and one of the eleven students charged, discusses how the state’s concerted efforts to stifle the student movement for Palestine “will only breed more resistance.”
Michigan AG @dananessel charged 11 @UMich students with felonies for their Gaza Solidarity Encampment.
“This form of suppression will only breed more resistance,” says Salma Hamamy of @SAFEumich, one of the charged students.
