‘Seismic Shift’: US Protests for Palestine Shake Biden & Ruling Class w/ Layan Fuleihan

On March 25, the UN Security Council finally passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, to be implemented during the month of Ramadan and to end on April 9. The resolution was able to pass because the US did not exercise its veto power as it did on three other occasions. But the US immediately called it “non-binding” and said it would not impact Israel’s war.

Layan Sima Fuleihan, the Education Director at The People’s Forum and an editor at 1804 Books, joins the show to discuss this major shift by the US, the global solidarity movement for Palestine and the rising tide of public pressure on the US and Israel for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.

“The Palestinian resistance has not only blocked Israel from achieving its military goals, but they have shown that a very small, blockaded & occupied people are capable of withstanding and making advances against the greatest military powers on earth.” –@layansima
