The party’s defacto leader, billionaire Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit had traveled to the US in 2018 to meet with the US State Department, USAID & National Endowment for Democracy (NED) subsidiary Freedom House, FARA documents revealed;
Upon returning to Thailand he pushed to cancel the Thai-Chinese high-speed railway, sought closer ties instead with the US, Europe and Japan, and co-led violent protests with NED funded organizations to try to seize power after losing the 2019 elections;
This latest ban will see core leaders removed from politics for 10 years, while remaining party members will simply create yet another US-backed party;
The ban has promoted US government complaints, and likely will prompt further US-sponsored instability;
The US seeks to remove Thailand’s military and monarchy from power and replace it with an obedient Westernized client regime eager to cut ties with China and use Thailand as a battering ram against China;
The US is similarly destabilizing the rest of Southeast Asia as part of its strategy of encircling China;
