We do not sympathise with Trump or the (BBC)
In a cruel twist of fate, Donald Trump, one of the most racist and oppressive American presidents in terms of freedom of expression and human rights, has filed a lawsuit against the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) for defamation after “distorting” his statements in one of the documentaries it aired, portraying him as inciting his supporters to storm the “Congress” in protest of his defeat and the victory of his opponent Joe Biden in the
Trump rejected an apology from the BBC’s leadership and the British government, which oversees its funding and management, and sought financial restitution for $10 billion. He directed his law company to begin legal proceedings today, Tuesday, according to his spokesperson.
We had intended to join the BBC in confronting this extortion by an American president convicted of moral corruption and the repression of liberties, particularly freedom of expression in America and around the world. However, the BBC has often failed the freedom of expression standard, most notably with its evident bias towards the Israeli narrative in the Arab-Zionist conflict during Israel’s genocide and starvation campaign in Gaza. We say the words with bitterness, especially as the author of these lines participated in the majority of its programmes in both English and Arabic before being evicted by an Israeli decree.
Let’s start with President Trump, who professes innocence and respects free expression, yet sues the British television station. It is sufficient to highlight two major files that establish his guilt with evidence:
The American organisation “Free Press,” which is concerned with safeguarding media freedoms, released a new study two days ago that exposed Trump’s methodical war on freedom of expression in his country and around the world since his return to the White House. The organisation based its research on 500 incidents, including obscene verbal threats, directives, and remarks issued by him and the White House against policy detractors; content deletions from official websites; and the erasure of historical information.
The organisation revealed that Trump targeted international journalists and scholars for criticising American policies, whether they related to military assistance for Israel in the Gaza conflict or the forced mass deportation of immigrants in the United States. It is sufficient to say that he barred the Associated Press from visiting the Oval Office because they refused to use the term “Gulf of America” instead of “Gulf of Mexico”, the original moniker. Trump also sued the Wall Street Journal, seeking billions in damages after it published a story regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who was notorious for delivering underage girls to his wealthy and powerful guests, whether American or foreign. Photos and live videos confirm this strange association.
The second file has two major aspects:
– The first is Trump’s repetition and embrace of Israeli lies about the “Al-Aqsa Flood” attack, particularly the myth that Hamas fighters roasted Israeli toddlers in ovens and sexually molested Israeli girls and women. The most alarming aspect is that he supported Israel’s extermination assault in the Gaza Strip while refusing to acknowledge its existence, as well as the war of hunger to death. He provided Israel with explosives weighing over 2,000 pounds to destroy all buildings and houses in the Gaza Strip. The second: Trump launched an unprecedented racist campaign against Somali brothers and sister, Ilhan Omar, a member of the United States Congress, threatening to deport them, calling them “garbage”, and claiming that their nation (Somalia) is the worst in the world. He pointed out that Somalia has no army, no police, and no idea what the word ‘parliament’ means, and that its people murder one another. This fool forgets that Somalia’s history stretches over eight thousand years, but his country, America, was established on the graves and murder of more than 100 million Native Americans and is only 300 years old. Ilhan Omar, whom Trump demanded have her citizenship revoked and be expelled and described as “a disgrace to America and humanity”, correctly pointed out that freedom of expression for him means cursing and insulting weak immigrants, as well as the people of Somalia who gave birth to Ilhan Omar, who is a psychological complex for him.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is facing hundreds of accusations of suppressing free expression, being biased towards Israel in its coverage of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the genocide in the Gaza Strip, and giving in to the demands, or rather orders, of the Zionist lobby in Britain and the Israeli government in occupied Palestine.
The BBC cancelled a documentary about the Gaza massacres, despite calls from honourable members of its ranks to air it, including Gary Lineker, one of the world’s most famous sports presenters, who was fired from the station after hosting his show “Match of the Day” for more than 26 years. The show became one of the station’s most successful and popular programmes due to Gary Lineker’s commitment to his human conscience and his support for the children of Gaza, where Israel has killed 40,000.
We must not ignore the internal complaints from Arab and, in particular, Palestinian journalists about harassment by BBC management as a result of the actions of powerful members of the Zionist lobby, both within and outside the organisation. 111 BBC journalists signed a statement accusing the organisation’s management of bias towards Israel and fear of the government’s critiques and actions. Many Arab journalists were fired, while others were barred from appearing on its screens under the guise of anti-Semitism. One of them was a young female journalist who was fired from her employment at the station after posting a message on social media criticising Israel and its atrocities when she was a teenager, years before she began working for the BBC. Furthermore, 200 significant figures in Britain, including MPs, lords, and academics, filed a petition against one of the board members, renowned for his Zionist affiliations and connections to Israel, requesting his dismissal for corruption, which they eventually won.
The BBC has lost what little credibility it has left, which was already low, as a result of its adherence to many Israeli mandates governing its Arab and global coverage of events. The lawsuit against it was filed by an American president, Trump, rather than by Third World countries in Africa and Asia. The British people are affected by their biases towards Israel and other global events and wars.
