The Lie of September 11, 2001, Still Shapes All Our Lives

The events of September 11, 2001, do not belong to the past. They extend directly into the wars in Ukraine, Palestine, and Iran. It is possible to mistake the enemy and remain fixated—in admiration—on a power that sows chaos and misery. Yet, blinding oneself to the truth leads only to being plunged, in turn, into that same chaos and misery.

The 25th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001, saw a ceaseless repetition across Europe of the inconsistencies that Atlanticist propaganda has been churning out ever since those attacks.

If the insistence on lying—lying constantly, lying repeatedly, even 25 years later—persists, it is because the stakes remain high: massacres continue in Ukraine, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Iran. Yet, these events cannot be understood without linking them to what unfolded on that day.

Today, hundreds of millions of people are convinced that the three World Trade Center towers did not collapse due to the impact of two airliners and that no plane struck the Pentagon. However, far fewer are willing to admit—as I demonstrated at the time—that these attacks were nothing more than a staged event designed to mask a coup d’état.

And yet, President Bush was indeed removed from his post at 9:35 a.m. by his counter-terrorism advisor, Richard Clarke [1]. The White House was completely evacuated. All members of Congress—both senators and representatives—along with some of their staff, were taken by the Secret Service to the Greenbrier bunker, located 40 kilometers from Washington. They were locked inside “for their own safety.”For a few hours, a mysterious “continuity of government” assumed actual power. It had been established by President Dwight Eisenhower during the Cold War [2]. However, under the presidential decree in force at the time, it was only supposed to be activated in the event of nuclear war—specifically, if the President, the Vice President, and the presiding officers of both houses of Congress were dead or incapacitated.

President Bush was shuttled from one military base to another. He ended up at Offutt Air Force Base—headquarters of the Strategic Command (responsible for the nuclear deterrent)—where Warren Buffett and top executives from the upper floors of the World Trade Center were waiting for him [3].

For seven hours, George W. Bush negotiated his survival. It was agreed that he would remain in office if he consented to implement the agenda presented to him. Cowardly, he agreed. Power was restored to him around 4:30 p.m., and he was able to return to Washington.

The conspirators’ handbook—Edward Luttwak’s *Coup d’État: A Practical Handbook*—examines various examples of coups d’état and concludes that they can only succeed if they remain invisible [4]. That is precisely what happened that day: an invisible coup, since the President remained in office.

From that moment on, the United States underwent a radical transformation. It reverted to its criminal past—characterized by the genocide of Native Americans and a history of successive wars. It established a secret political police force employing 112,000 officials [5]. It institutionalized torture [6], even practicing it within the White House [7]. It abducted 280,000 people and subjected them to torture in international waters [8]. They massacred more than a million human beings in Afghanistan and Iraq [9].

Germany and France were the only nations to oppose the war against Iraq. Yet, on December 9, 2003, France 2 gave Edward Luttwak a platform on its evening news broadcast. He declared: “Chirac has a bill to settle with Washington! He has a long bill to settle with Washington. And in Washington, a decision has clearly been made to make him pay that bill. Chirac wanted to feast and gorge himself at the expense of the United States on the diplomatic stage, and, naturally, he is going to pay the price!”

The horrors perpetrated by the United States should have come to an end with the 2016 election. That was Donald Trump’s promise—one he stated and repeated time and again. While he did indeed put a stop to US funding for Al-Qaeda and its affiliates, the massacres continued under different guises. Despite being mired in all manner of scandals—including two impeachment proceedings—and betrayed by nearly his entire team, and despite efforts to block his re-election, he made a comeback in 2024.

We all witnessed how, abandoning the principles he had always championed, he launched a needless and unjust war against Iran. Why against Iran?

On September 23, 2010, as the United States was preparing to attack Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad delivered a historic speech before the United Nations General Assembly [10]. He explained that the wars against the Afghan and Iraqi peoples had been officially launched on the grounds that their governments had participated in organizing the 9/11 attacks. In the eyes of the United Nations, therefore, these were not merely internal US events, but international acts of war. Consequently, he called for a United Nations investigation into these events, which many regard as inconsistent or implausible. Then he set forth his personal vision of politics as a calling in the service of his people.

Stunned, President Barack Obama—a former CIA agent—rushed onto the BBC’s Farsi (Persian) service the very next day [11]. He acknowledged Iran’s right to nuclear energy and asked that, in exchange, Iran drop the 9/11 issue.

Although President Obama did not specify this, it is worth noting that since 1988, Iran’s nuclear research has focused not on military applications but on a civilian one: fusion. This technology could liberate developing nations by providing them with virtually limitless energy.

As a side note, the communications advisor who organized this interview, Ben Rhodes, was the man who had drafted two absurd reports designed to bury democratic debate: one regarding the 9/11 attacks and the other concerning the invasion and occupation of Iraq.

A few weeks later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu contradicted him. He announced that his ultimate goal was to prevent Iran and Pakistan from pursuing research into nuclear fusion [12]. In doing so, he demonstrated that he was unconcerned with the welfare of his own citizens, focusing instead solely on preserving global dominance for major energy companies.

For two years, peace gradually returned to the world. However, betrayed by his own camp, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was unable to put forward his chief of staff as his successor; meanwhile, other associates—including Vice President Hamid Baghaie—were arrested on secret charges, tried behind closed doors, and sentenced to 15 years in prison [13].

The war against Iran, which began on February 28, 2026, is not a response to any new situation. It is merely a resumption of the course of action halted by President Obama in 2010. The justifications put forward by the propaganda machine are pure fabrications. There were never 40,000 Iranians murdered by the Revolutionary Guards. Indeed, the wave of young people enlisting in the corps since the war began proves as much: they know they are not murdering their people, but protecting them.

Repeating the same absurdities about the September 11 attacks twenty-five years later defies explanation. It was possible to overlook the laws of physics in the heat of the moment. Today, however, persisting in the claim that the Twin Towers collapsed in on themselves due to jet fuel and that Tower 7 followed suit—or that an invisible plane struck a ground-floor archway at the Pentagon without damaging the doorframe—is a matter of blind belief or psychiatry.

If our political leaders and journalists have no explanation for these attacks, they should admit it. They are under no obligation to subscribe to my analysis. In the land of Descartes, they pride themselves on being rational.
