What I’m Seeing in Lebanon is Not a Ceasefire w/ journalist Steve Sweeney
They’re calling it a “ceasefire” in Lebanon, but on the ground, it looks nothing like one.
In just the first week, Israel violated the ceasefire nearly 500 times, killing dozens of people, continuing airstrikes, issuing displacement orders, and wiping out entire families in their homes. Villages are still being destroyed, and journalists are being targeted — at least nine killed so far this year, including two during the so-called ceasefire. Since March 2, the death toll has surpassed 2,500.
So what is this “ceasefire,” really?
In this segment, Rania Khalek and Zoe Alexandra speak with Steve Sweeney, Lebanon bureau chief for RT, who recently survived an Israeli strike, about what he’s witnessing on the ground.
There is no ceasefire in Lebanon.
Israel is still bombing civilians, destroying villages, and killing journalists.
So why is it being called one?
