Turkiye’s Erdogan Pretends to Support Gaza While Cozying Up to the US War Machine

In solidarity with Palestinians, Turkish citizens took to the streets of the port city of Izmir to protest against the docking of the USS Wasp, a US naval ship sent to support Israel.

Murat Akad, a member of the Party Council of the Communist Party of Türkiye, explains how protestors are fighting back against US military presence in the region and their own government’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza.

Mass protests took place in Türkiye over the govt’s collaboration with the US and Israel.
