‘Tired of Being Robbed’: Uber and Lyft Drivers in Tennessee Stage Strike

Following a vote to unionize in August, a coalition of rideshare drivers formed the Tennessee Drivers Union (TDU) and went on strike over Labor Day weekend to demand better pay and conditions.

“Uber and Lyft are taking over half of driver’s payouts for rides” explains Cecilia Prado with A Luta Sigue, “drivers are working 12-hour shifts, seven days a week just to put food on the table.”

Cecilia Prado and Arkangelo Wilson, co-president of TDU, explains how workers are “tired of being robbed” and what they are doing to fight it.
