Canada’s Complicity in Genocide: Palestinian Activist Rips ‘Nice Neighbor’ Facade

On November 25th, over 100,000 people marched in the Canadian capital to demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the complicity of the Canadian government in Israel’s ongoing violence and colonization of Palestine.

Sarah Abdelshamy, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement, discusses the historic march and how Canada’s enabling of Israel’s genocide in Gaza is shaking up national politics.

“We are building a mass movement that confronts Canada’s complicity in the Israeli genocide of Palestinians, that explicitly tries to shatter this perception of Canada as the US’s ‘nice neighbor.’”
