Are Western People Too Sensitive to Have a Functioning Military?
The British government is sending a handful of soldiers to Eastern Europe to deter an imagined Russian invasion of Ukraine. But when one reads of how weak the University of London thinks young Britons are, one wonders if the British soldiers will be quaking in their boots at the prospect of violence. The University of London has issued a warning that Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, a classic work of English literature that has been read and studied by students for decades, contains violence and racial prejudice that can cause distress and anxiety among graduate students. A university spokesperson said the warning was a part of “our responsibility to support the mental health and well-being of our students.”
Other books that have been given distress warnings by British universities include another Dickens classic, Great Expectations, Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre, George Orwell’s 1984, and JK Rowling’s Harry Potter.
A generation that has to be protected from classic works of British literature would certainly collapse from the violence they would experience from a Russian army.
In the US the situation is as bad or worse. Here our military age youngsters collapse in agony when they hear gender pronouns used. Words such as he, she, him, her cause anxiety and terror among the woke. Just the ordinary use of the English language causes stress for them. In some quarters just the presence of a white face conjures up images of slavery and lynchings. How a country with a population this weak imagines itself to be a superpower is a mystery. Now that even the neoconservatives have to urge China to stop a Russian invasion of Ukraine, we can see where this ends.
The West has bred a generation that is so weak and insubstantial that it cannot deal with gender pronouns or its own classic literature. Little wonder that they are succumbing to tyranny.

U.K. Conservatives have won 4 elections in a row proving what?
That Charles Dickens isn’t too much for the majority of us. If you really think them weak then why not bolster them or do you want them to fail?
I appreciate the piece but those young men you speak of are about to do something incredible! Fight for freedom, not type like a mere journalist. Bolster them, if you think them weak. Again though, our conservatives win here not the moping woke left so, I’ve no idea why this was aimed at Britons.
I appreciated the piece. Cheers.
