This Song Was Made To Heal You — New Sustainable Human Video From A Poem By Caitlin Johnstone
In a beautiful three-way artistic collaboration, the amazing Sustainable Human has created an achingly emotional music video for Michael Brunnock’s song “A Blessing for Anyone” based on a poem I wrote of the same name. I’m so grateful to everyone who made this possible, and I’m so thrilled to share it here. I really hope to see this kind of free and easy online collaboration between artists become more common in the future. Let the art flow! Let’s wrest culture from the artless middlemen and forge a new and healthy path for ourselves.
Side note, this video comes with a Kleenex warning. The first time I watched it, it made me ugly cry. The footage of the woman rescuing a koala from the bushfires fair near destroyed me. When Dawn and Chris Agnos from Sustainable Human decided at the last minute to go with the headline “This Song Was Made To Heal You”, all I could think was “It sure was!”
Of course your mileage may vary, but just in case, don’t watch this on your bus ride home from work unless you’re comfortable with public displays of emotion, in which case I love you even more.
If you’re on Facebook, Sustainable Human also has a great version here with subtitles which will share better on that platform than the YouTube version. Thanks for watching, and, may the earth feel your love.
