The Truth About Thailand’s Communist Insurgency

Many have tried to characterize the Cold War as “US vs. Communism” and the regional crisis in Southeast Asia amid the US war in Vietnam in a similarly simplistic manner.

The truth is much more complicated. I explain how communist nations fought and even invaded one another, how US “allies” were covertly undermined by the US itself, and a tangled web of chaos similar to America’s current involvement in the Middle East unfolded.
