5/6 intercepted by Russian S-400 air defense & Pantsir point defense systems, 1 ATACMS damaged and reportedly caused no casualties;
Despite apparent success of Russian defenses, future missiles will inevitably get through and do damage;
Brayansk strike means that US authorization is not confined only to Ukraine’s area of operation in Kursk;
Russia uses over 4,000 missiles a year on targets across ALL of Ukraine, a contributing factor to Russia’s incremental success – Ukraine will never have as many missiles and those it has have limited range meaning even the most ideal results will fall far short of Russia’s missile strike campaign;
The authorization by Washington should have been expected – Russia should assume any and all possible options will be exercised, including under the next US administration, to exhaust Russia and pressure it in Ukraine & elsewhere along Russia’s periphery even if the US reprioritizes aggression vs China;
