Yes, Taiwan is an island making landing operations difficult, but also complicates US efforts to arm/supply Taiwan;
A size comparison is most useful in terms of the volume of missiles required to degrade military targets and infrastructure which is indifferent to whether it is an island or not;
Russia’s use of some 4,000 missiles a year across Ukraine has significantly degraded Ukraine’s military, industrial, and energy infrastructure – a similar or larger missile campaign against Taiwan would yield quicker and more thorough results without the need for landing ground troops;
The US encouraging separatists on Taiwan to antagonize the rest of China is even greater folly than the US encouraging Ukraine to provoke Russia – anyone who really cares about the people on Taiwan would encourage status quo toward PEACEFUL reunification;
