Rwanda’s Crimes in the DR Congo: Genocide Survivor Speaks Out

Claude Gatebuke, Rwandan genocide survivor and Executive Director of the African Great Lakes Action Network, says Western-backed plunder is fueling the bloodshed in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

To understand the war that’s killed over 7 million people, Gatebuke says you must know “Rwanda and Uganda are mercenaries for the West,” and the US-brokered “peace deal” is a misnomer for a “minerals deal” that greenlights more Western corporate plunder, which is the very root of the violence.

“Rwanda and Uganda are mercenaries for the West,” says @shinani1, survivor of the Rwanda genocide.

“They wage war in Congo to secure oil, gold, and coltan for Western corporations, paid for by our tax dollars.”
