The Unlimited Hangout Podcast Ep #02 – Stargate Argentina

In the second episode of The Unlimited Hangout Podcast, Whitney Webb and Mark Goodwin discuss their latest investigation into OpenAI’s Stargate Argentina data center and the man behind it Emiliano Kargieman. They discuss how Kargieman is a part of a close-knit group of Argentines sponsored by the American group Endeavor that have blurred the lines between Argentina’s tech sector and Silicon Valley. In addition, they note that his company Satellogic is working closely with Palantir and SpaceX to create a global satellite surveillance network that aims to soon “predict the future.”

The discussion also covers the proposal for Stargate Argentina and how Emiliano Kargieman has suggested that OpenAI may not end up being the ultimate user of the center once built, due to an AI debt bubble. He further seems to suggest that the Argentine State will likely use it as it “digitally transforms” under Javier Milei into an AI-powered surveillance state.
